Where it all began
Our History
Late Mr. Ahmed Ali Yateem, was a pioneer in the Middle East region and he saw the need for having a home-grown optical presence to serve the needs of the community. Following his footsteps, his son the late Mr. Abdulla Ali Yateem formed the foundation for spearheading the Yateem group through strategic expansions in the region. The rest, as they say, is history. Today the five sons of the late Mr. Abdulla Ali Yateem form the core pillars that Manage the group. The Yateem Group owns Over 100 optical outlets in addition to many other operations and facilities. At its heart, the group retains the original family values set forth by the founders. To this day, the group continues to provide the best world-class, vision care products and services to the residents of GCC

FOUNDERS
Yateem optician was established in Bahrain in 1910 by the late Ali Ahmed Yateem, whose intellect let him examine the latent demand and venture into the business of ophthalmic optics. This rare breed of intellect grasped the technical know-how from Europe and accepted the challenge of implementing this through technological innovation in his own country, unaided. From a pharmaceutical establishment, Mr. Ali Ahmed Yateem laid the foundation of the first optical Establishment in the Middle East under the name of “Yateem Optician”.
His son the late Mr. Abdullah Ali Yateem, joined the same business, and provided a backbone towards strengthening the foundation of the Yateem Group, Mr. Abdullah Ali Yateem was highly instrumental in implementing the latest technical knowhow and making available the most innovative products from Europe and cater to his country’s needs together with generating vision care awareness among his fellow countrymen.
Under his dynamic leadership began the process of expansion, first in his own country and then throughout GCC. Late Mr. Abdullah Ali Yateem started his first overseas expansion from Saudi Arabia and together with his Son Mr. Ahmed Adullah Yateem & Mr. Nasser Abdullah Yateem ventured into the United Arab Emirates.
Today Yateem Optician under the dynamic leadership of his Sons, Mr. Ali Abdulla Yateem (Chairman), Mr. Ahmed Abdulla Yateem (Vice Chairman), Mr. Nasser Abdulla Yateem (Excecutive President), Mr. Khalid Abdulla Yateem (Director) and Mr. Hisham Abdulla Yateem (Director) has got a network of over 100 elegant retail stores in all the prime business locations and elite shopping malls within the GCC.
